  32. Hi, all.  Got a note in the mail from Dimension Technologies explining 
  33. the Club Toaster situation.  Here's a copy of the letter for all you 
  34. wondering people out there...

  41. Dear Club Toaster Member:

  43. By this time you are no doubt wondering why you have not recieved your 
  44. CLUB TOASTER disc for the past few months.  U am proud to say that 
  45. Dimension Technologies has compiled and mastered its promised CD-ROM for 
  46. the past 3 months.  Issues 3, 4 and 5 were sent out to our replication 
  47. firm in California.  As it turns out a large company by the name of 
  48. MicroSoft also deals with this firm.  Needlesss to say this well known 
  49. company has the ability to the front of hte line at any time.  This is 
  50. nomally not a problem, but with the frenzy that Windows 95 has caused 
  51. [not a very justified frenzy, IMHO] has caused, replication of smaller 
  52. runs like ours was looked upon as more of an inconvenience than anything 
  53. at this time.

  55. We have since learned our lesson optiong for a smaller replication house 
  56. so that we may recieve promp courteous service.  unfortunatly we are 
  57. under contract to haveour first five disks replicated with this company.  
  58. We have been given a firm delivery date of October 25th, for all 3 
  59. issues.  You can expect to recieve your discs just days after.  We are 
  60. genuinely sorry for any inconvenience or anxiety caused by the delay.

  62. On a lighter note, I am happy to say that you will see a definate 
  63. improvememnt in the overall quality and feel of Club Toaster.  We have 
  64. also been hard at work on the latest version of Composite Studio entitled 
  65. COMPOSITE STUDIO PROFESSIONAL.  This program is available to Club Toaster 
  66. members at the upgrade price of $99.95.  New features include soft-edge 
  67. shadows, new bevel style, animation of multiple elements or video clips 
  68. [which implies ToasterPaint 4.0/Flyer compatibility, which the current 
  69. Composite Studio will bomb on], friendlier batch rendering and setup 
  70. screen.  Also available is WIPE STUDIO.  revolutionary program allows any 
  71. Amiga 4000 user to easily create custom color wipes that can be run from 
  72. the Toaster swtcher.

  74. [It seems to me that the rendered effects that the Toaster for Windows 
  75. (which, as I've mentioned, is poorly named since it also runs on Amigas 
  76. and anything else they write it for) and eventually the Video Toaster 
  77. Flyer system will be able to do.  Catch is the Toaster will need to 
  78. render these, and Wipe Studio can make real-time color wipes.  I can see 
  79. Home Improvement-type stuff popping up all over the place :) ]

  81. We have several new products in the works for '96.  We hope to use Club 
  82. Toaster to keep you informed and up to date with the status and 
  83. availability of these and other products.
